What is endometriosis? Name TWO of its morphological features

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other
places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.
Grossly: red-blue to yellow-brown nodules or implants.
The histologic diagnosis at all sites depends on finding two of the following three features within the
lesions:

  1. endometrial glands,
  2. stroma, or
  3. hemosiderin pigment.
  4. Endometriosis
