Ans:- Oesphagus cells are damaged by exposure to acid from the stomach.

  1. Metaplastic columnar epithelium that replaces the normal squamous epithelium
  2. Columnar metaplasia along with goblet cells
    Complication:- Invasive adenocarcinoma of the oesophagus.
